Dr. Wasonga is a Dryland Ecologist with specialization in Range Ecology and Pastoral Livelihoods and over 17 years’ experience in work related to range management and pastoral production systems. He is currently a Senior Lecturer in the Department of Land Resource Management and Agricultural Technology (LARMAT) at the University of Nairobi . During 2011- 2014, he worked as a Post-Doctoral Research Fellow at the German Institute for Tropical and Sub-Tropical Agriculture (DITSL) at the University of Kassel in Witzenhausen, Germany. In addition to teaching, he has supervised seven (7) PhD and twelve (12) MSc students to completion, and currenty supervising seven (8) PhD and six (6) MSc. students. He represents the Department of LARMAT in the Faculty of Agriculture committees for postgraduate studies, industrial attachment, and chairs the Faculty‘s timetabling committee.
